Was the Oura Ring worth it?
I bought my first Oura ring back in March of 2020 right before the Pandemic hit. I bought it mainly because I didn't like the results I was getting from my Withings sleep pad and I just couldn't sleep with my Apple watch on. The Oura ring seemed like the perfect thing that I could wear that would not bother me and get me the results I wanted which was to determine if I had sleep issues like sleep apnea and how I was actually sleeping.
I can honestly say that it did help me determine that I had reasonably good sleeping habits and that certain things like eating late or having alcohol did affect my sleep. I've been using the second generation ring now for awhile and it added a few features including the blood O2 feature. This feature really helped clear my mind that I didn't have sleep apnea. It also helped me to understand that different sleeping positions affected my blood O2. I really try to sleep on my back because my levels dropped several points whenever I slept on my stomach.
Would I buy another one? At this point I think I've got a good feel for what really affects my sleep with the data to prove it so this will probably be my last ring but that doesn't mean that I don't recommend it. I would still purchase it again for the peace of mind it provided.
